October 9, 2018, Auburn Hills, Mich. – The Veteran Owned Business Roundtable (VOBRT) appointed Sig Huber, Director – Global Supplier Relations and Risk Management at Fiat Chrysler Automotive Group (FCA US LLC), as Honorary Chairman to further emphasize FCA US’s commitment to veteran-owned businesses.

The VOBRT is a non-profit veteran organization that provides participants with leadership, networking opportunities, training and mentorship programs that offer access to veterans in industries that support the inclusion of veterans.

“FCA continues to place a strong emphasis on fostering a diverse supplier pool,” said Huber. “Strengthening the partnership between the VOBRT and FCA allows us to connect our purchasing organization more closely with the veteran-owned businesses seeking to do business with us. Thank you to the VOBRT for this opportunity.”

FCA US spent $8.2 billion with diverse suppliers in 2017, representing 18 percent of the Company’s total annual purchasing.

The Company began tracking veteran-owned business spend in 2018.

“VOBRT is honored by FCA’s ongoing support and partnership,” said Roderick K. Rickman, VOBRT President and CEO of Rickman Enterprise Group. “FCA consistently understands and fosters what qualities veteran owned businesses bring to the table as suppliers.”

FCA US hosted its 19th annual MatchMaker event in Sept. 12-13, 2018, which provided more than 250 minority-owned, women-owned and veteran-owned businesses access to FCA US leaders, buyers, tier-one suppliers and leaders from advocacy and certifying organizations.

Since 1983, the automaker has purchased nearly $62 billion from minority-owned, women-owned and veteran-owned suppliers.
