One of the main benefits of membership in the VOBRT is access to specialty events. These VOBRT-community events not only make it possible to network with other veteran business owners in 2017, but you can also gain valuable insights and knowledge in problem areas you as a veteran business owner may have. Everyone who takes part in VOBRT activities is in it to grow their own businesses and to help other veterans be successful. So, if you’re still considering membership in or just joined and want to know more about services offered, here is exactly what it means to participate in VOBRT events.

Easily Locate Important Events by Category

Not all events will offer something specifically beneficial to you as a business owner. That is why browsing events by category can help you focus on information you need. There are dozens of available categories’ legal events, real estate gatherings, construction-focused, travel services, staffing events and more. If the event is not business-specific for you, you’ll still be able to network and learn. For example, attending a matchmaking event by one of our corporate members can give you tips in understanding their contracting process for VOB’s; training seminars may highlight improved ways to sub-contract to other VOB’s or hire better talent.

No Need to Travel

There is no need to travel to all of the events. You’re “taking care of business” 24/7, so traveling to nation-wide event destinations isn’t a viable option. Many of the events are virtual. So if you’re interested in an event, VOBRT offers webinars and other online events. The event description will state whether or not it is a physical event or a virtual one. No need to take off valuable time from work in order to have a “physical” presence!

Taking Part in the VOBRT’s Online Education Program

When signing up for an online event through the VOBRT’s Education Foundation, you are given an access to the Learning Management System (LMS). This portal is password protected, so it is necessary to be a member of the VOBRT and register for the event in advance. This way, the event sponsor, host or the Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be better able to plan and accommodate. Once your registration for the webinar is confirmed, all you need to do is follow the instructions that will be sent to you via email. If you have any questions regarding the topic, feel free to send them directly to the host prior to the event to ensure your questions are answered during the webinar. Just in case you miss the webinar event, the webinar will be added to the VOBRT’s library of educational resources that members are able to access at any time and download a certificate of completion after they have answered a few questions to ensure you understand the content that was shared during the webinar.
