And as a woman-owned, veteran owned business, you have additional <a href=\"http:\/\/becomingselfmade.com\/2016\/05\/10\/business-resources-grants-for-military-veteran-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/becomingselfmade.com\/2016\/05\/10\/business-resources-grants-for-military-veteran-women\/\">funding, training, and networking resources<\/a> because you also have a minority-owned business.<\/p>\n<h2>Training<\/h2>\n<p>There are several training opportunities for veteran men and women; among them are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/vets.syr.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/vets.syr.edu\/\">Institute for Veterans and Military Families<\/a> \u2013 Issues affecting veteran business<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/boots2business.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/boots2business.org\/\">Operation Boots to Business<\/a> \u2013Training vets-to-business program<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetsgroup.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.vetsgroup.org\/\">The Vets Group<\/a> \u2013 IT\/business training\/federal business programs info<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/1.usa.gov\/1XmqtUD\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/1.usa.gov\/1XmqtUD\">Veteran Entrepreneurship Portal<\/a> \u2013 Resources\/online training for veterans considering business ownership<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/1.usa.gov\/1S8rn90\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/1.usa.gov\/1S8rn90\">Veteran\u2019s Business Outreach Program<\/a> \u2013 Provides education\/mentoring<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One training program that specifically targets women-owned veteran owned businesses is <a href=\"http:\/\/whitman.syr.edu\/vwise\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/whitman.syr.edu\/vwise\/\">Veteran Women<\/a>, a three-step training for business growth\/entrepreneurs. One program is offered for established companies and another for entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n<h2>Networking<\/h2>\n<p>Emotional and financial support are important when you\u2019re about to start your own businesses. Women veteran owned businesses must utilize the value of networking to maximize leads and opportunities. These networking programs are available to all veterans:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.navoba.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.navoba.com\/\">National Veteran Owned Business Association<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/vetbizinitiative.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/vetbizinitiative.com\/\">VetBiz Initiative<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/veteransbusinessnetwork.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/veteransbusinessnetwork.com\/\">Veteran\u2019s Business Network<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.veteranscorp.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.veteranscorp.org\/\">VeteransCorp<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.veteransunited.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.veteransunited.com\/\">Veterans United Home Loans<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Networking site that specifically target women-owned veteran owned businesses include <a href=\"http:\/\/www.va.gov\/womenvet\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.va.gov\/womenvet\/\">Center for Women Veterans<\/a> and\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.womenvetsrock.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.womenvetsrock.org\/\">Women Vets Rock<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Membership Spotlight: Constance Blair<\/h2>\n<p>For more than 18 years, Constance Blair has owned and operated a minority business. She is a veteran, a member of VOBRT, and we think she sets the bar for women-owned veteran owned business! She is the founder, Chief Executive Officer\u00a0and President of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tvilogistics.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.tvilogistics.com\/\">Technology Ventures Inc.<\/a>\u00a0(TVI). \u00a0In 2016, Blair\u00a0was cited in the business-to-business magazine <em>Corp!<\/em> The article referenced a seminar at which she had spoken regarding the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.corpmagazine.com\/features\/cover-stories\/foreign-trade-in-macomb-county\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.corpmagazine.com\/features\/cover-stories\/foreign-trade-in-macomb-county\/\">advantages of introducing a foreign-trade zone (FTZ)<\/a> into small businesses\u2019 supply chain. She noted that the majority of businesses companies like TVI are trying to attract \u201clocal economy businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you start off in business, you look for the most efficient way to get your inventory,\u201d says Blair. \u201cBut as you grow, the best way to increase your bottom line is to go directly to the source itself and cut out the middle man. Many people fear that would be a higher risk, but that\u2019s not always true. Especially if they learn about a FTZ, they can buy the same product at a far better price with more control of their delivery schedule and type of inventory they can carry.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>VOBRT for Businesswomen Like You<\/h2>\n<p>The challenges facing veteran women are unique to them as minority business owners.
